Utah banned Delta-8 THC through SB 131 in 2022, which amended the state's hemp extract definition to exclude artificially derived or chemically converted cannabinoids. The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food confirmed that Delta-8 THC produced via chemical conversion of CBD is not a lawful hemp extract. Selling or possessing Delta-8 products in Utah is subject to legal penalties.
